Pithead, Marsh Green, Exeter EX5 2HE, United Kingdom
A beautiful day along the Dartmoor ended in Exeter and finally in Marsh Green. Devon has, just like Cornwall, quite some hills, but as well beautiful country roads that allow for great cycling. Upon arrival I saw a little entry to a field. But I was quite unsure whether I was at the right spot. But Marsh Green is small and when I biked a bit further I saw somebody on the street. Turned out it was the owner of the campsite.

To have a little bit of a framework to evaluate campsites for bike travelers, I wrote my criteria down in another post. The review is based on these criteria.
The owner was quite busy as she had some sort of gardening party. When I saw the party I thought, jackpot! But helas she pointed me to the little gate where I was already. Telling me, that I could set up a tent in any of the slots, but maybe should take a smaller one as more people would be arriving.
Absolutely! Across the street is a parking lot for vehicles. They provide wheelbarrows to bring the luggage to the actual campsite. And the campground is gorgeous! It's basically a wildflower meadow with little circles cut out for the pitches. The campsite is rather small, but through the wildflowers, you really feel like having a private space. It's a fantastic idea!
I didn't ask for one, as it was great to just sit among all these flowers.
Yes, there's the possibility to charge your devices
There are no real buildings on site, but there's a hut which is a bar/kitchen and there's a communal fire pit.
No, as well not in the vicinity. So, I would recommend stocking up before.
No, not really
Absolutely! The campground is on a field/orchard surrounded by the typical hedges and is absolutely gorgeous. It is a real outdoor experience, including a hot outdoor shower.
I often think about this campsite. It was absolutely beautiful and the owners did a really good job to make campers feel like being in nature. An absolute recommendation!
