Montrose DD10 8EJ, United Kingdom
Quite a different campsite than the majority of campsites I stayed on in the UK. Quite a bit bigger, more caravans and a little bit more institutional. No wonder, I mainly booked small, almost pop-up campsites most of the time. This one is located close to Montrose and I believe it is run by the city.

To have a little bit of a framework to evaluate campsites for bike travelers, I wrote my criteria down in another post. The review is based on these criteria.
The welcome was ok, I got checked in and got pointed to the tent area.
Yes, there's an area that is reserved for tents. It's close to the shower facilities, which is a plus.
The check in was quite quick and there was not really a presence of staff once I set up my tent. Meaning, I didn't ask and there were no picnic benches on the tent area.
Yes, similar to France it was possible to charge your phone in electricity sockets in the bathrooms.
No, there was no common room.
I have not seen a shop. But it's not problematic as it is located very close to Montrose and there are shops around. I had some great burger at Roo's Leap. Just a short and beautiful walk from the campsite.
Yes, it is directly located at the EuroVelo 12. One thing that I found specifically great about that is that the train station is really accommodating for bikes. There are elevators big enough for a bike and there are even signs pointing out that it is along a bike route. Felt very welcoming!
The campsite itself can't be described as specifically beautiful. Plenty of caravans. But the beach is close by and the area itself is very beautiful.
It's not one of my highlights, but it's functional. I loved the facilities, even though some people in their reviews thought they were quite dated. The only thing that I really disliked was the number locks in the bathrooms. I struggled quite a bit and had to ask fellow campers two times to help me get in...
