Easter Clayknowes Farm Beam Road, Bonnybridge FK4 2ET, United Kingdom
My first full day of biking in Scotland. And it's beautiful! Lots of great views and some moderate climbs. Once I arrived in Bonnybridge, I went down to a rather steep hill to get to the local Tesco Express. I don't like them, to be honest. I prefer CO-OP, less plastic and more friendly staff. But looking back, I was glad that I did as there was no food on the campsite and I could at least make myself a little tomato salad.

To have a little bit of a framework to evaluate campsites for bike travelers, I wrote my criteria down in another post. The review is based on these criteria.
The welcome by the owner was very friendly. They showed me quickly around and I could pick a beautiful pitch, a little bit away from other campers. There was a rather large group, who were already quite busy drinking, so I considered it to be wise to stay away from them as much as possible.
Yes, the majority of the campsite was not available to cars. They had to park outside, something that I truly enjoy!
Yes, there were picnic benches.
While the campsite is off the grid, it produces its own electricity and provides electricity to charge your phone.
There was no common room.
There is a little shop at the reception. I arrived when it was already closed, so I can't say much about it. To be on the save side I would stock up on food in Bonnybridge.
Yes, Bonnybridge itself is located on the NCN 754, which is connecting Edinburgh and Glasgow. The campsite is roughly two kilometres off of Bonnybridge.
The campsite is beautifully located on a working farm. Views are great! It's really embedded in nature, so much so, that I even had an eye to eye encounter with a fox. He stole my porridge :)
I would definitely come again! Beautiful location, great facilities and a friendly welcome. The only downside I would say was the presence of the rather large group of people. Very loud and rather drunk. There was a little bit of trouble with them and I usually prefer campsites that are not allowing these groups.
